In Quinua, a village located at 40 km. from Ayacucho, the ceramics is the main activity in the village. The different kinds of red and cream clay provide these pieces of earthernware a special quality, that in spite of their simple and almost childish forms have a great expressive power. The small churches , chapels, houses and the Quinua bull are very famous. In the same way characters as the peasants, the gossiping women and the many representations of religious themes have become popular. The purest and most traditional Peruvian handicraft! .
